Coordinator Narayan Neupane presented the draft slides prepared to submit as proposals to Nepal Government regarding BPO and outsourcing IT Business to Nepal. The participants put forward their views regarding this matter.

Facilitate tax system, One-door policy to register a company, develop suitable manpower. Work on cyber policy. We have things but old. New required to overcome challenges in the present context. Information Ministry needs to work on this. Rajendra ji introduced Sameer Thapa. He can be included in the group. He is a top Architect at Microsoft and plays a vital role in Management. He also introduced Kamal Pokharel who is a dean of a University in the US.

Highlighted the background of the participants. Thanked Amrit Thapa, Narayan Neupane, and the team for the initiation. He talked about how this diaspora strengthens knowledge and enables investment in Nepal. Assured required support and coordination from Nepal. Nepal has UpToDate skill set. The government needs to intervene. The government needs to do marketing. build infrastructure and develop policies. Make an environment for BPOs and outsourcing in Nepal. Entrepreneurs need to work to develop skillsets. Academia is doing a good bit still we need to think about finishing school which will sharpen our skills. Education is primary.

Thanked the organizing team and thanked all the participants. Expressed best wishes to meet the objective of the organization. The diaspora needs to work for brain gain from professionals worldwide. Highlighted the following three points:
Need to work for policies, legal instrument, by-laws, financial aspects, digital knowledge, international trade which are related to outsourcing.
Develop manpower in emerging technologies like AI, machine learning, blockchain etc. develop work culture. Needs orientation and behavioural develop.
Investment for innovation. Need to work with Planning Commissions. We need seed money and after venture capital. Consortium need to think about the seed money. Who is going to invest? Talked about political economy of technology. Need to know which technology brings capital, which is dumped, which helps Nepal grow economically.
Cooperation and collaboration required among different authorities. Global cyber security issue.
Proposed regular meeting. If it possible to meet every 15 days?
